Opportunity
International grassroots efforts are underway to help facilitate our global mission. Local CEC chapters are a primary vehicle through which the vision and principles of the CEC, are being achieved. Each chapter implements its own advisory board and activities and contributes to our global vision in each geographic location. CEC chapters have been formed, and are being developed across the developed and developing countries and regions of the world.
Additional CEC Chapters and Initiatives are welcome! More involvement is needed to help us attain our ambitious goals. If you wish to establish a CEC chapter or a new Initiative in a country or region, please contact us for more information and guidelines. We appreciate your interest and ongoing efforts in the administration and development of CEC chapter in your country or region.
CEC has implemented an invitation-only process. Unsolicited proposals are not accepted. CEC works closely with our local chapters, highly qualified individuals and organizations, to internally develop new initiatives priorities, projects and a strategic portfolio of technologies.
We invite you to join our sustainable innovation movement, an ecosystem of business and policy leaders, social entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, investors, legal practitioners, financial advisors, commercial experts, philanthropists, researchers, engineers, marketing and media experts, government and NGO officials, and other experts and leaders.
Background
While environmental efforts by corporations have existed for decades, the potential for green profits through eco-innovation is a new concept. Our focus is making green profitable for small to large companies. The cost of energy, water, materials, and labor has gone up, and they represent a lot of costs for companies. In addition, there are inefficiencies in resource management systems, which create opportunities for cost-saving improvements and paving a golden road for eco-innovation ESG partnership projects. We are looking at the tip of the iceberg in key industries where going green is good for the bottom line. It's an early stage market with a number of small to large companies, but no one has major market share. It's the very beginning and potentially the beginning for a lot of profits and fast and measurable results. Companies have also seen changes in laws and regulations that mandate greener decisions. A national cap-and-trade carbon emissions law would require companies to account for carbon emissions, and there are other laws and regulations passed at the state and national level that require more careful stewardship of the environment and giving companies more of an incentive to improve resource efficiency and mitigate risk through new-technology investments. Going new-tech and green can mean green profits to SME's, and not just for the MEs of the world.
Innovation and entrepreneurship are critical to creating new economic opportunities and a sustainable future. CEC is a fast growing global community of leaders and experts in communities and regions around the globe are committed to accelerate sustainable innovation. We collaborate and partner with businesses, governments and communities to find practical and science based solutions. We affect change in the following areas:
